Further information about retention time

Unless specified otherwise in this document, Personal Data shall be processed and stored for as long as required by the purpose they have been collected for and may be retained for longer due to applicable legal obligation or based on the Users’ consent.

Therefore:

  • Personal Data collected for purposes related to the performance of a contract between the Owner and the User shall be retained until such contract has been fully performed.
  • Personal Data collected for the purposes of the Owner’s legitimate interests shall be retained as long as needed to fulfill such purposes. Users may find specific information regarding the legitimate interests pursued by the Owner within the relevant sections of this document or by contacting the Owner.

The Owner may be allowed to retain Personal Data for a longer period whenever the User has given consent to such processing, as long as such consent is not withdrawn. Furthermore, the Owner may be obliged to retain Personal Data for a longer period whenever required to fulfil a legal obligation or upon order of an authority.

Once the retention period expires, Personal Data shall be deleted. Therefore, the right of access, the right to erasure, the right to rectification and the right to data portability cannot be enforced after expiration of the retention period.

Katsed uses Google API Services to provide experiment analysis functionality. This section describes how we access, use, and process data from your Google services.

What Google Services We Connect To

When you connect your Google account to Katsed, we access:

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4): We read your GA4 property list and metadata to help you select which properties to analyze
  • Google BigQuery: We query your BigQuery datasets to retrieve experiment data and perform statistical analysis
  • Google Cloud Platform: With your explicit permission, we may create and configure Google Cloud projects and BigQuery resources on your behalf

What Data We Access and Process

From Google Analytics 4:

  • Property names and IDs
  • Data stream configurations
  • BigQuery export link settings

From Google BigQuery:

  • Raw event data and parameters necessary for defining metrics
  • Aggregated experiment data for statistical analysis
  • Event counts and session data for experiment analysis

What We Do NOT Access:

  • Personally identifiable information (PII) from your analytics data
  • Individual user behavior or cross-session user tracking
  • Any data beyond what is necessary for experiment analysis and reporting

How We Use This Data

We process your Google data exclusively to provide Katsed's core functionality:

  • Analyze A/B test and experiment results
  • Generate statistical reports and confidence intervals
  • Create metric definitions based on your event data
  • Build planning scenarios and sample size calculations
  • Display aggregated performance metrics

Data Storage and Retention

  • We store raw event data and parameters required for metric definitions
  • We store aggregated statistical results from your experiments
  • We store your analysis configurations and saved scenarios
  • Upon account cancellation, your data is retained for 90 days, then permanently deleted

Google Cloud Costs

Important: When you connect Katsed to BigQuery, we run queries against your datasets. These queries may incur costs in your Google Cloud account.

You are responsible for all Google Cloud Platform charges, including:

  • BigQuery query processing costs
  • BigQuery storage costs
  • Data transfer costs
  • Any other Google Cloud Platform fees

We optimize our queries to minimize costs where possible, but you should monitor your Google Cloud billing.

Your Control and Ownership

  • You own your data: All Google Analytics, BigQuery, and Google Cloud resources remain under your ownership
  • Revoke access anytime: You can revoke Katsed's access through your Google Account settings at any time
  • Full transparency: You can see exactly which permissions we request during the OAuth authorization flow

Compliance with Google's Policies

Katsed's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically, we:

  • Use Google user data only to provide and improve Katsed's user-facing features
  • Do not transfer Google user data to third parties (except as necessary to provide the service)
  • Do not use Google user data for serving advertisements
  • Do not allow humans to read Google user data unless:
    • We have your explicit consent
    • It's necessary for security purposes (investigating abuse)
    • It's required to comply with applicable law

OAuth Permissions We Request

When you authorize Katsed to access your Google account, we request the following permissions:

  • Google Analytics Admin API: To create and manage BigQuery export links for your GA4 properties
  • Google Cloud Platform API: To create and configure BigQuery projects and resources on your behalf
  • Google BigQuery API: To query your experiment data and perform analysis

You can review these permissions during the authorization flow, and you can revoke them at any time.
